Provisional results for today  -  15m Class, Graham 1st and David 2nd. What a tremendous and thoroughly deserved result. Congratulations all round. We had a Team dinner planned for tonight, now it looks like being a party.

In 18m Class, a crowded finish of close scores has John in the high teens with good solid points. Some highly placed pilots have outlanded, so another shake up of the positions.

Task A for 18m Class is 455km AST. The track circumnavigates Berlin. 15m Class is 422km AST

Updated scores for yesterday

put John on the podium at 3rd, and David in the top ten at 10th for the day. Both very well deserved results. See John on the podium below.

Today is still windy but the weather looks promising.

A day which proved to be stronger than forecast, and characterised by very strong winds has produced another batch of topsy-turvy results.

Graham outlanded. Early results have David 9th and John 4th. Yes 4th again, 2 points off the podium.

A beautiful morning, but by 9.00am the wind has picked up and more overcast approaching. We will see

5th August

A day of highs and lows for Australia yesterday ;

.. John had a technical outlanding on the first leg of a day of high winds, 25 to 30 kts, and rapid cycling, ie a high risk day.

.. David and Graham did very well to come 5th and 8th respectively. All results still preliminary.

.. last night we had the Aussie Team party at the field. It was a low budget affair and outstandingly successful. All the Team attended, with major assistance from Beryl Hartley and her local friend Hans in organising the catering details. Easily several hundred pilots and crews attended. We all wore our shirts promoting the bid for Narromine for the Worlds for 2012. Their were many questions and much interest. We can be sure it is known here that Australia is bidding. It was a good night.

4th August

Preliminary results from yesterday indicate the difficulty of the day.

In 18m only 15 of 50 gliders returned. John was one of those and is 3rd for the day, on 542 points compared with winners 550.

Graham and David in a bunched field are 28-29th on 489 of the winners 623.

Weather today has given us rain this morning. There is a chance of a task window this arvo.

 3rd August 1330

 A 2hr AAT for 15m and 317km AST for 18m. Cloud base at Luesse,4200ft.

Sunday 3rd August

First comp day with cool overcast weather.

Friday 1st August

Graham and David at equal 5th, and John at 18th for the second Practice day is a solid result, and with the organisation finally agreeing that they have no further paperwork demands of us, we are just about ready to go. John still has some fine tuning to complete on his glider.

Official Opening Ceremony tomorrow attended by our Ambassador to Germany Ian Kemish and his wife.

31st July

1300. Launch commenced on a conservative AAT. Good discussion with Ingo this morning.

31st July

A quiet working day yesterday with a promising day indicated early today. My first Team Captain's meeting was an experience ! Enough said.

30th July

1330  Day cancelled.

Overcast this morning with the possibility of a small 2 hr AAT on the second practice day.
